Pick up a Pen and Paper - Handwriting as a resolution is good for the brain.

Are you working on resolutions, like many of us?

Handwriting increases neural activity in the brain.

Resolve to write more with a pen and paper. Writing letters, post cards or in a journal can elevate brain health.
According to a building number of studies the activity of writing by hand unleashes creativity, can elevate mood and has positive effects on the brain.

There are many fun ways to use your pen and brain. Write a note to a friend, family member, or a neighbor. Share an article with a colleague with a note or even become a pen pal. You can also join us in boosting your mood and helping others as a Pen Pal.

The Plus One Pen Pal program is excited to partner with Huskies For Neurodiversity for a letter-writing event! Join us at UW Seattle on January 17th and write letters and cards aimed at spreading positivity and joy.

Pick up a pen and paper in 2023 for brain health while helping others.
