Hit the Deck Story
Participant Story: Intern - Grace Denney
As a participant of Hit the Deck, what is your fitness challenge and fundraising goal?
My fitness challenge is to do 50 push-ups per day through the month of July and I did not set a fundraising goal although I was eager to raise as much money for Plus One as possible!
How is your fitness challenge going so far and are you on track to reaching your goal by the end of July?
My fitness challenge is going great! I have completed my push-ups each day and feel good about getting exercise in for a great cause.
Is your fitness challenge only for Hit the Deck or usually part of your daily routine?
My fitness challenge was customized for Hit the Deck although I do try to get physical each day.
Do you feel forced to complete this challenge just for Hit the Deck or is it a motivator to support a good cause?
Hit the Deck is a great motivator and I never feel forced since I know that people’s donations and support are holding me accountable. Plus One is a great organization and I love being able to fundraise for them.
What does Hit the Deck mean to you, and if this event was longer than a month, would you continue your fitness challenge and fundraising goal?
Hit the Deck is a great fundraising event that works to help Plus One’s mission and encourage people to practice their fitness goals. Hit the Deck has encouraged me to get active and if it lasted more than a month, I would continue my goals since I feel like it changed my exercise routine and I will continue being more active and setting goals even after Hit the Deck ends.
