Live More Positively and Inspire Others

Author : Dulmini Siriwardhana

Today, as we experience racism, divisions in political standpoints, and the effects of a global pandemic, it is very apparent that there is still a lot of hate and discrimination towards the opinions and beliefs of one another. The world remains divided and in order to combat the negativity our communities may face, we must come together to spread positivity and encourage change towards a more loving world.

Spreading positivity to the world starts with you. Some steps you can take are complimenting others, smiling, encouraging others, helping others, listening to others, showing gratitude, and most importantly, doing it with happiness. Currently, many people are facing difficulties and struggles due to the COVID-19 pandemic. By complimenting and helping those around you, you can make a huge positive impact on the lives of others. Also, start embracing the beauty around you. Whether you are walking to school or driving to work, taking a moment to appreciate all the things you have around you by embracing nature will help you feel a sense of calmness and gratitude.  Something that I have learned is the importance of listening to others and supporting others. When interacting with others, make an effort to set aside whatever you're working on or your phone and truly listen to them. Doing this allows for an environment where other individuals can feel heard, which studies have found to reduce the stress they may be dealing with.

Whether it's on social media or those around you, there may be people who constantly try to bring you down. Do not feed into these negative energies or start to believe them. It is important to remember that those who succeed are the ones who continue to chase their dreams and radiate positive energy despite the negative voices.

One of the best ways to spread positivity is to inspire people. At Plus One Foundation, we strive to inspire others with hope and provide services for those affected by neurological disorders. We provide music therapy and other exceptional events with the goals of spreading encouragement and optimism, especially at times like this when it's needed the most.

Like Kacey, the founder of Plus One Foundation, you too can take steps towards spreading positivity and inspiring others.
