Never Give Up
Healing is not linear. It is not a “one and done” sort of thing; it can seem constant, and even endless. Last week Kacey, our very own founder of Plus One Foundation, was involved in a painful accident. Leaving her with a broken humerus bone and shoulder, and a very messed up hip, sacrum, tailbone, and obturator, Kacey had every reason to feel defeated. However, all of these terrible things did not (and surely will not) stop Kacey from getting out of bed every morning to keep on fighting to help those with neurological disorders.
It is times like these that we can reflect on the importance of what we as an organization do. Just when things seem like they are going great, they can take a nosedive and leave you feeling more lousy than ever, which is exactly when receiving help becomes more necessary than ever. We are committed to changing people’s lives when that might seem impossible, and to making the phrase “never give up” seem like a realistic option.
We wanted to take time to wish Kacey a speedy recovery, and to remind every single one of you that just because not everything is okay now, doesn’t mean it won’t ever be. This is why Plus One is so committed to doing what we do, and why we will never stop fighting to help those going through tough times. Even though things may seem like they are endless, there is hope. There is an end to your suffering somewhere, sometime. Just remember to never give up.
